Kicking off the Weight Loss journey


Today a friend of mine messaged me on Facebook saying she has started the journey to lose weight as she had gained a lot weight during pregnancy.I remember her asking before as well but I guess lacked the motivation/inspiration as most of us because we are busy in our daily lives with other priorities. Well whatever the reason of motivation be it weight loss, staying healthy, slowing the process of ageing, physical activeness , lets get started with the actual topic.

So before we deep dive in to the process, let me tell you that it is going to take time and needs lot of patience.

Below is the list of items you will need to focus on.

1) GOAL: The first and foremost pre requisite is to define a goal for yourself. The Goal could be as simple as losing weight, losing 10 kg of weight, getting healthy, more physical activity etc. Once you have the goal break it into small goals which in turn help you achieve the bigger goal set. For example if the goal was to lose 10 kg, divide in to smaller realistic goals like losing 3 kg per week. If the goal is to get healthy, then smaller goals could be eating more salad everyday, reduce having of junk food from 3 days a week to only 1 day week etc. Whatever the goal, write it down and place it in a place where you constantly and see are reminded of.

2) MOTIVATION :Second most important part is to have a motivation for yourself and keeping it ignited all the time. This means you need to have a burning desire to achieve your goal. If your goal is to lose weight put a photo of someone whose figure you wish to have or the photo of a person with weight you don't want to be and that could be yours as well.

3) STRATEGY: 


  • Have 3 Major meals ( Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner) and 2-3 small meals depending on how long your day is
  • Start the day with a small meal to get your metabolism kicked off followed by a heavy breakfast. As the day starts drowning the size of your meals should start going down.
  •  Include more of Proteins and fats which keeps you full for longer hours
  • While you will still lose weight by just having a healthy diet, physical activity increases the chances more.


4) TIPS

  • Plan your week ahead for all the meals and snacks
  •  Have you major calories of food by afternoon and you will end up eating less during night
  •  Have dinner 2 hour before sleeping
  •  Have hot and spicy food
  • Sit before your food with a cool mind, look and feel the food, realise that the size of your stomach is size of fist.
  •  Drink a glass of water before starting your meal, have a bowl of salad which included cucumber and then start with your meal.
  • Chew your food properly to extent that food  breaks to smallest particles and feel the taste while chewing it.
  •  During those hours of unstoppable hunger, have some hot drink like hot milk or soup.
  • Keep your stomuch clean always. Have foods rich in vitmain B or take Natural Organic Vitamin B.
  • Get down your sugar intake to maximum of 2 teaspoons a day and better if it reduced to 0.
  • Drink lots of liquids like water, green tea, non fat milk.
